Sangrena Harris - Miss Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications, Utilities, Housing, Agriculture & Fisheries June 4th 1989 ushered in the birth of a creation unlike any other. Filled with radiant hope, genteel beauty, and blessed with creative and multifaceted talented was Miss Sangrena Harris, a proud representative of the quiet and secluded village of North Side.

At the age of five (5) Sangrena initiated her educational journey at The Valley Primary School, where she later graduated and embarked upon her quest to the attainment of her secondary education at the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School. During her tenure there Sangrena not only excelled academically, but also in the extracurricular activities she participated in.

Sangrena was one of the youngest students to qualify for the Leeward Island Debating team of Anguilla at the age of 15. She was committed to dance and demonstrated this through her involvement in the All-ah-Wee Young Theatre Players and The Trendsetters dance group. Sangrena developed a love for public speaking, which eventually lead her to compete in various pageants. She was crowned Miss Valentine 2005 and 1st Runner Up in The Miss CCB Talented Teen of that same year.

Upon completion of her secondary education, Miss Harris attained nine (9) O’ Levels and went on the join the elite individuals of the sixth form student body at the Albena Lake Hodge Comprehensive School. While there Sangrena took up an interest in Youth Work and through her dedication to the Anguilla National Youth Council, she was named National Youth Ambassador of Anguilla in 2008. Miss Harris also continued to represent her island on the debating frontier, and was given the title of team captain of the 2008 Leeward Island Debating Team. Miss Harris graduated from 6th Form with 4 A Levels.

Sangrena is currently employed by the Government of Anguilla as a Postal Counter Clerk. She still nurtures her passion for dancing and youth work by being an active member of “From Within Dance” and through her new role as Caricom Youth Ambassador of Anguilla. Sangrena endeavours to further her education in the fall of 2010 with hopes of attaining a degree in Education, a means by which to further empower the youth of Anguilla.
